The Spare the Air Employer Program’s Carpool Now program provides personal assistance to qualified employers to help targeted groups of employees start carpooling.
Carpool Now lunch-and-learn events allow employees to learn about carpool options and connect with coworkers to form carpools. Carpool Now events include free lunch and a door prize drawing. After a short presentation, attendees break into pre-determined groups based on home location to meet potential carpool partners.
Employers must have a minimum number of employees, executive support, a dedicated coordinator to manage the logistics including securing an on-site room for the event and the ability to provide individual or aggregate zip code data. The Employer Program designs the invitation, manages the RSVP survey, coordinates lunch for all participants, facilitates the event, provides a gift card for the drawing and follows up with participants. Past Carpool Now hosts include Oracle, Roche Molecular Diagnostics, Workday and Alameda County.
You may be eligible for a free event if you have:
- 300 or more employees on site,
- An on-site coordinator with support from management,
- A conference area, and
- The ability to promote this event to employees.
